AmpliTube 5 Crashing Pro Tools

Postby StephenBond » Sun Dec 20, 2020 2:33 pm

Hi all,
AmpliTube 5 Custom Shop arrived in my account so as I big fan of AmpliTube 4 I looked forward to trying it out. I installed and tried the stand alone application. Awesome stuff!

So I opened Pro Tools. Each time I'm afraid Pro Tools crashes. AmpliTube 4 runs AOK as per normal. However, AmpliTube 5 gets a spinning beach ball followed by a Pro Tools crash, see video here.

https://www.facebook.com/613642920/videos/10158129055907921/

From the IK FaceBook user group it seems I am not alone with the Pro Tools plugin woes.

So far I have trashed all the Pro Tools preferences.

I have tried all the earlier versions I have installed of Pro Tools going back to 2020.3.

I have reinstalled the latest version of Pro Tools.

I cannot reinstall AmpliTube 5 from the IK Product Manager or remove it, only un-authorise and reauthorise which I have also tried.

Many thanks for your help in advance!

Regards,
Stephen

Hi Stephen and welcome to the forum.

So far I think you're the only user that's posted on here about a PT issue.

As this is a user-to-user forum and not direct to IKM support, in case no one else chimes in here with advice or a solution the best thing to do is check the FAQs, via https://www.ikmultimedia.com/contact-su ... ck=QUICKSW

If these do not resolve the issue, there is a link to the Technical Support form, for direct help from Official IK Support. They endeavour to reply within 2 working days, but obviously considering the current situation things may take longer than usual.

And, to help others who run into a similar problem, please let us know what you did to resolve the issues, but without directly quoting any correspondence from official support.

I would almost guarantee it's the screen resolution problem that IK is working on a fix for.

That tracks... I had an issue with the stand alone with multiple screens; solved that one by having all screens at the same maximum resolution (now I need to use glasses to use it...).

For the record I'm on a humble 1280x800.

Works fine on the stand alone app as I mentioned.

^^^
That's odd, as I thought that screens below 1400 pixels horizontally were currently a problem.

Please let Technical Support know your findings, on the link above.

Thanks. I raised a support ticket as I mentioned so just waiting for a reply on that. Will let them know in due course.

I've never had issue with IK plugins and screen resolution. They have all been quite functional on my humble screen resolution, unlike some from other manufacturers which are just too big to fit on the screen (Plugin Alliance for example).
