New Apple Mac mini with M1 chip

Postby pauldelpozo@gmail.com » Mon Dec 14, 2020 5:10 pm

I am unable to use Amplitube 4 on this new chip. This is in addition to the Big Sur incompatibility. Will Amplitube 5 address this issue?

It's not an interface issue, nothing plugged in.

I get this message when I open Amplitube 4:

Device Initialization Error - Could not initialize Audio Device:

Couldn't change sample rate

I have uninstalled and resinsatalled with no success

You're getting that message BECAUSE there is nothing plugged in.
It's telling you it can't find an audio device, you can't change the sample rate until you've selected an audio device.

4 works on it. Only the custom shop has issues.

5 will 'probably' work. Maybe.

Thank you that worked for me.

I had my Focusrite Scarlett Solo plugged in when I was getting this error. I assumed it wasn't the issue because the interface had no issues with GarageBand.

Sure enough when I unplugged it and plugged in my iRig HD2 Amplitube 4 loaded and is working. I then plugged in my Scarlett Solo and it works as well.

There is something funky going on with the Focusrite when Amplitube first starts. Thanks Abikis for the help. Hope this helps some others that run into a similar situation.

Nobody said "probably" about AmpliTube 5. They are testing steadily on macOS including Big Sur. The Custom Shop issues will be resolved and AmpliTube 5 will work (as it seems AmpliTube 4 does already anyway).

Mac mini M1 - AT 5 custom shop crashes without opening, both within GarageBand and Stand-alone.

AmpliTube 5 has been tested and works on M1 Macs with Big Sur. The only software that isn't working is MODO DRUM due to M1 nor Rosetta emulation supporting AVX. So you would need to report your issue to IK Support and they will figure out what is happening in your case.
