Make the Best of It (Hemispheres Project)

Postby CrazySchmidt » Mon Nov 09, 2020 8:54 am

Hi guys, this is the second song in the collaboration "Hemispheres Project" that I am involved with along with fellow IK member Dan Wilson. Dan and I have been chipping away at this throughout the whole COVID thing and it's feels great to finally present it on this forum.

Dan's drumming has made such a huge difference to the quality of this recording for me, the fact of being able to play to a real drummer in this age of recording at home with midi drums is immeasurable to how the whole song sounds and feels through the recording process and more importantly, he's right on the vibe. 8-)

I hope you enjoy it and I am certainly looking forward to the next "Hemispheres Project" track with Dan, right Dan? :D

Cheers, CS. :)

Hi, thought I would chime in on the song.

I can say we are both really happy how the song turned out. I had a lot fun working with CS on this one. I really enjoyed the exchange of ideas when the song was being developed. If it meant a track or drum fill needed to be rerecorded we did it or a little more time was needed to come up with a part we took it.

The mix CS did is spot on. The levels between the Lead Vocal, Snare and Guitars to my ears is excellent. As usual CS's Guitar tone is great but this time add to that the bass sound he got, nice and solid.

I can't wait to start working on a new one! :D

Cheers,
Dan
