7.3.2 – “Reinstall Library” button

But I think that the wording should be "the download manager will simply install the file contents into the default library path."

If needed, I would rephrase your question as:

If I use "Reinstall Library" from the Product Manager
(a) will it download everything again (over 50+GB) from start?
or,
(b) will it see that the downloads folder already contains the files that were previously downloaded and will just perform the installation?

If the answer is (b), will it download any missing files?

Hi Darkstar,

Thanks a lot for the help. I was waiting to buy additional hard drive to do the backup of the downloads and try to press reinstall. You saved me. Though I will try to move one zip folder from the download folder and try reinstall to see if it will verify for the missing parts and download the missing parts alone.

And sorry I didn't know I should not quote from the support. I lost my patience. My apologies

Thanks for the understanding. Yes frustration is the right word.

I tried MP2 and Modo Bass in standalone and MP2 as expected was not much impressed but liked strings and vocal patches. But Modo Bass is really cool. I have been thinking it's sampled instrument looking at the videos and sounds. But being a emulated or physical modelled instrument, it sounds great, very close to the real. Still have to learn the controls. However the String bass could have been better. But not a big deal. Modo drum get error code 201/210. Will try again later. It has downloaded but doesn't install.

I finally have been able to get a team viewer session with support as it was too complicated. All fine except few things pending as they need to check. Apart from that, if you remember, I was keen to know if there won't be any duplicates as ST4 includes St3 and St2 sounds, or uses same samples. Here's one of such presets I came across that same same samples, when you will load on your system you will hear both are same except few eqs added.

Please note, SampleTank 2 XL sounds are included in the SampleTank 3 sound collection. Any sounds imported from SampleTank 2 XL will be seen as their native SampleTank 3 (.st3i) formats and now their newly converted .st3i (From .st2i).

For a full list of sounds in SampleTank 4, check out the link below. Keep in mind, SampleTank 4 also includes the sounds from SampleTank 3.

When these collections include the older sounds, there is no need to import.

Duplicate files can be removed from your sound content path. This can be found in settings. Navigate here via a Finder or File Explorer window. All Imported Legacy Instruments will be found in your directories "Imported Instruments" and "Imported Samples" folders.
