SampleTank/Syntronik, selective installation?

Postby mtmtmt » Sat Sep 19, 2020 5:40 pm

Hi

I don't have endless free space on my computer.. so I wonder:
When installing SampleTank or Syntronik, can I choose what to install or not?
I won't need everything it comes with

I've asked Support the same question. Will post here when they answer.

I look forward to an answer, as my installation of ST4 pre-dates the release of the IK Product Manager. I was wondering how that process would work...

If I ever have to re-install, it sure would be nice to do it selectively.

Update:
On IK main website user area, you can download the files and then install (or not) what you want.
At least for the sounds.

I found the sounds in the IK Product Manager > Manage My Products.

There are three tabs at the top: Software | Sounds | Hardware

Your sound downloads can be found under the Sounds tab. You can set the "install to..." option under "... more options".

That may work well for the expansion pack libraries, but if you select SampleTank 4 MAX, it shows the download size of 187.7GB, without an obvious way to select specific sound categories. Looks like you have to eat the whole thing if you go this way.

I read the comment, but in the context of being asked post IK Product Manager release. Everyone knows that you have always had to manually install from your user area, leaving you free to pick and choose.

The automated downloads from Product Manager should let you selectively choose portions of the mega downloads for SampleTank and Syntronik that you wish to install. But currently this is unavailable.

Yes, Support replied suggesting that I can download and install files one at a time from the My Products Area.

I have asked for this option (at least) to be added to the IK Product Manager.

That would be very useful.

Thank you!

I kicked the tires on the Product Manager recently due to the Group Buy, and I liked what they have done with it so far! Worked well on the new software downloads, and some single sound sets. Much improved over the old method!
