Pads & Reaper

Postby themadtux » Tue Jul 28, 2020 7:01 pm

Quick question, can iRig Pads be used in reaper for editing drum tracks? If so how do I go about getting reaper to see the equipment when it's connected to Windows via USB cable.

Thanks,

Hello themadtux and welcome to the forum.

I don't see why not. iRig Pads is a
16-pad MIDI groove controller for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch as well as Mac and PC.

So treat it as any other MIDi controller. For Reaper
-- plug in the USB cable
-- in Reaper's Preferences / Audio /MIDI Devices wenable it for Input,
-- create a new track,
-- select iRig Pads as the input Device,
-- RecArm the track and make sure Input Monitoring is enabled,
-- click Record and start tapping the pads.

You'll see the MIDI being recorded.

yeah I'll have to look into it further. For some reason Reaper doesn't see the midi device after I plug it in. Do the Pads need a driver of some sort for windows to recognize it as a midi device?

Time to get it working..

Thanks for the info.... bookmarked.

I do not think that it needs a driver.

And plug it in first, then start Reaper.
