Newbie w/Questions

I recently bought an iRig2 for iOS with Amplitube Custom Shop v.4.10.0 The problem is that no sound is generated. I can ee light bars in the app but no sound. I have tried connecting headphones and an external speaker, but no sound. I am hoping this is a matter of operator error.

Please help.
