Chitlins Con Carne

Postby danwilson5 » Wed Apr 01, 2020 3:47 am

Hi All,

A good friend and I did a remote collaboration. He lives about 20 minutes away, thanks COVID-19. Its an old Kenny Burrell tune off of his Midnight Blue Album.

Randall Smith is playing all of the guitars and I am playing the drums, bass and B3.

Any constructive criticism would be most appreciated.

Be safe everyone

Hey Dan,

Dig the song and Randall did some tasteful playing on this with a nice sound but, of course, you supplied that solid foundation - drums, bass, keys...that's awesome.

Outside of the drums, what's real vs virtual sounds here?

Post more....

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the kind words.

Randall is using an Ibanez Artcore with Humbuckers going into Amplitube 4 Fender collection - Twin and Deluxe Reverb Amps. The bass is a mix of the DI signal and B-15R AT4 (the one that comes with AT4).

The bass and guitar were real instruments and I played my electronic kit and triggered Superior Drummer 3 and the organ is just the stock organ that come with Logic X.

Aside from Amplitube 4 for the bass and guitars, I used a lot of plugin like the Black76 and White2A, the British channel and Stealth Limiter. I was very pleased with how the drums sounded running them through the new tape plugin.

Hey Dan,

Thanks for sharing the details. I kinda like to know what sounds were used or how they developed. I am also a fan of the new tape plugins.

I've got an all-Fender trial track from a couple years back that maybe I'll share next.

Thanks again,
Michael
