Hi Skipvia,
I had the same problem and was able to resolve it last night. Now the sound FX work. What I found was the setting for the "Loopback+" (This is the 4th icon lit in 'blue' across the top) was engaged or 'On'.
1. Make sure you only see a single LED (centred), this indicates the feature is 'Off'. It must be "Off". (turn the knob until you see a single LED)
2. Press down to select this option and the iRig HD X will restart. (give it at least 10 seconds or so).
Things to check
– Make sure the microphone is turned 'on' in settings for your App. (I use Tonebridge)
– Make sure you select "FX/THRU" icon (2nd icon across the top). turn the knob to the left.
– Make sure you select "Direct monitoring" icon (3rd icon across the top). turn the knob to the right.
