Volume Drop

I’m using an iRig2 with my iPad and ear phones. Why is there a serious volume drop whenever I engage a gain pedal with the various amps? This happens even if the gain pedal volume is cranked.

Note* A lot of pedals which affect your audio singal's dynamics include their own 'Volume' control. Check to make sure a pedal set too low of a 'Volume' this is not the cause of your troubles.
