Hi,
I am using the latest version of SampleTank 4 CS and just downloaded the first library (Orchestral Percussion). I have not yet installed the default Sampletank 4 libraries. I know many people have asked similar questions, but none of the solutions I have seen in the forum seem to fix my issue.
In ST4 I changed the location of the sound files to a directory on my D Drive. Then registered the new library through the IK product manager.
Anyway, I then "installed" the library using the product manager, which told me everything is good. Annoyingly, it downloaded to the default "Users\public..." directory instead of the one I had specified. When I restarted ST4, the library didn't show up, so I added the default location for the sound files in the settings for sound file location. (which I really don't want, but let's forget that for now).
So the library now shows up, but it's "locked". It tells me that it's not "authorised" and opens the product manager - which tells me that it is "registered". Now I am more confused: is "registering" a product is the same as "authorising"?
-If it is not, how do I authorise?
-If it is the same, then (a) why use different terms, and (b) how do I unlock it?
I looked at "re-installing" the library, but then it wanted to re-download the whole 2.8GB file (rather than using the download I already have).
I would really like to know how to unlock the library.
(Also subsequent questions - if the Product Manager is managing the download, installation and registration, why does the download include a separate installer, and why does it install into the default location without asking?).
