can anyone give me a quick how-to on setting up to trigger pattern changes with a recorded midi note? Thanks.

It would really depend on what exactly you are trying to trigger and on what product.

Given the case I would recommend opening a ticket with IK Support in order to get a bit more of an in depth explanation.
