Please bear with me, b/c I am a complete audio idiot, so my questions might be basic, but I've been struggling to do what I want for over a year. I have purchased various gadgets and tried various apps, none of which have worked.
What I want to do:
I want to play a song on my Windows laptop (for example with Spotify, YouTube, Drumeo, Window Media player, whatever). While that song is playing, I want to play my electronic drum set along with it. While I'm doing that, I'd like to take a video with my iPhone of my playing the drums.
I'm looking for a setup that will allow me to capture the audio from my Windows laptop, the audio from my drum set, and the video from my iPhone camera, ALL at the same time. I don't want to have to use a DAW, or do any kind of post production that involves laying various tracks on top of each other. I just want to play along with the song and capture everything at once.
I was advised by Sweetwater that an Behringer Flow 8 would do this, but after buying it and trying, it did not work. And I contacted Behringer and learned that the device is not intended to be used with the iPhone
I'm wondering if any of the iRig variants might do what I want? Ideally, I'd like a device that can take input from multiple sources. At a minimum, my laptop (so I can capture the song) and my drum set (so I can capture the drums). It would be better if I could do a few more inputs, like at least a microphone to capture voice or something like that.
I would appreciate if anyone can advise me on a device that will *definitely* work? I'm so tired of trying different devices and software only to have nothing work.
