For a week now, I’ve been experimenting with PC plugins going from an audio interface into a VHT Two Ninety Two power amp to two Mesa Boogie 212 guitar cabs.
I now have the Axe IO. I’ve tried my Quad Cortex as an interface as well as a Focusrite 2i2. All with the same results. I play mostly high gain metal.
The tones are bass heavy and fizzy. I own two Line 6 powered PA speakers and it sounds wonderful going through those. But my wife uses those to sing through.
When I use my power amp and guitar cabs, even if I disable the cab in the plugins, I can not get good tones.
Is it even possible to get good tones with this setup? Is there a way to use the amp out on the Axe IO to achieve what I want to do?
