I rig 2 through USB on mac book pro?

Hello,
I have a 2012 mac book pro that won't accept audio in through the earphone socket. Is there a way to put the i Rig 2 into one of the USB ports, to use with garageband? Will it work? Any advice welcome!

iRig 2 will not work via USB, it is an analog input audio interface. You may want to look at something like iRig HD 2 which will work via USB and will provide much better audio quality.
