iRig HD2 not working with iPhone XS Max.

For medical reasons I haven’t been able to use my irig HD2 for quite some time. Today was the first day I am able to hold a guitar again and I plugged in my HD2 into my iPhone XS and nothing. No light, no nothing.
If I plug it into my windows10 PC it lights up and works. I’ve searched through the forum and haven’t found anything similar. I can’t seem to send a support request as the page sends me to the FAQ instead.
Help?

more weirdness, decided to try it again today. Plugged in the iRig HD2 and I saw a flicker of the phone's screen. So I figured it detected I plugged it in. I opened the media player on my iPhone and iRig HD2 shows as the audio device! Fire up amplitube and now it works.

update: spoke too soon. Lasted about 10 seconds and then the light went out and Amplitube defaulted back to internal microphone.

Apparently it is the internal USB connector in the lighting to microusb cable. If I apply slight sideways pressure on the cable connector toward the headphone jack of the iRig, it starts working. But as soon as I let go, it stops. [edit - unnecessary]

Ah, I was trying to do it on my phone but it must have been blocking the form or something. I can see it now that I am on my PC.
