Midi Switch for preset change

Is it possible to use a external midi foot switch with the Stomp I/o to change presets while the io stomp remains in stomp mode. It would also be nice to set up the switch to have tap tempo always available?

Yes, the iRig Stomp I/O offers both external foot switch slots (For MIDI-based foot-switches, like sustain pedals for example) and a 5-pin MIDI Input for external MIDI devices.

Great, I figured you could do it but, the stomp I/o manual does talk much about receiving midi.
