iRig Keys I/O pads and presets

I don't have an iRig Keys I/O yet. I think it is what I am looking for - a compact stage keyboard when used with an iPad. My question is: Can I use the 8 pads as different preset sounds? Is that a simple thing to do? Is it simple to do with Garageband and Sample Tank? Is there a tutorial video that shows this? Thanks for any help!

You can't assign different presets as you are thinking.
However, If you have different presets in one multilayer channel then you could control different presets using the pads.
I do not think this is simple to setup.
