Z-Tone Buffer+Boost power questions

Postby i.bridd » Fri Apr 11, 2025 2:21 am

I submitted these through the Technical Support web form last week but haven't received a response, so hoping for better luck here. :)

I need to buy an external power supply / adapter for the ZTBB pedal. What range of amperes should it have? Is there an official IK product that would be compatible, maybe the one they sell for the TONEX pedal?

Also, the manual for the ZTBB says in a couple places that connecting 48v phantom power would bypass an internal 9V battery, but what happens if phantom power is activated while the pedal is already running off a 9V DC adapter? I'd like to be able to use the ZTBB to send one signal direct to my digital interface and one signal to a guitar amp with a mic that is also running into the digital interface, but the interface doesn't allow independent control of its XLR inputs' phantom power -- they're either both putting out 48v or neither are. Trying to avoid frying this thing on day one.

I eventually heard back about which power supply to use, but still need a definitive answer to the part below, please.

The manual for the ZTBB only says that connecting 48v phantom power would bypass an internal 9V battery; no mention of the adapter. Trying to avoid frying this thing on day one. <
