I'm trying to find a way to inject a line audio input into a phone call I make with my SmartPhone while I'm wearing my headset (stereo ear buds + mono microphone).
According to the specs I see for the iRig Stream Solo here:

I think the iRig Stream Solo may do what I want. Can I connect the iRig Stream Solo to my SmartPhone via the TRRS plug, and then plug my headset into the iRig Stream Solo, connect my audio source to the Solo, and finally make my phone call? Will I hear the caller on my headset, and will the caller hear my headset microphone + the audio source?
Note that since the connection to the SmartPhone is via the TRRS analog headset jack, it shouldn't require or care about what app is running on the SmartPhone. The app would be the Android built-in phone app, but it shouldn't matter since there is no digital connection.
Is my assessment correct? Can I use the iRig Stream Solo as described?
