iRig HD2 with iPhone low volume on headphone

Hi
I recently got an iRig HD2. In use, i have quite big problems getting the correct volume. I plug in my active bass. when pluged, i have to reduce the gain to the minimum, otherwise i get distortion. on the headphone the signal is super low an when i record the signal, it´s also super low on volume. The sdame happens when in use with an ipad pro.
waht did i wrong?. does anyone has an idea?
