Tonex cab aux input

Postby cmoore75 » Thu Jun 05, 2025 2:10 am

I tried out the aux input on my Tonex cab and the level control doesn’t seem to be working. I can hear audio with the level all the way down but nothing happens when I turn it up. Anyone else have this issue or have any suggestions?

Strange enough, I did a quick check before I left for work and the aux knob seemed to be working properly. I’m going to do some more testing because I feel pretty certain it wasn’t working before. I changed the source from GarageBand to YouTube and I lowered the volume from my laptop. I’ll report back if the issue repeats again.

Mystery solved. GarageBand had reverted to using my Tonex one as output device so I was actually playing through the main input. No wonder the aux level wasn’t doing anything!

GarageBand can be weird (no hate, just an observation) sometimes, eh? It is great and quick at almost everything but sometimes it just doesn't "gel" or some odd thing like this happens. We've had a couple of artists that like to use GarageBand - again, it really does just work well for a lot of things! - but they would sometime run into some odd little issue like this. I still recommend it especially when you need to get an idea down and executed while the creativity strikes, though. Anyway, sorry for the diversion, I'm glad the mystery is solved!
