Hey, folks. This is my first post here. I tried searching for noise issues, but had trouble finding the exact situation I’m dealing with, so please be kind if this is actually well treaded ground. I’m finding that my captures are significantly noisier than my real amps and pedals, and definitely way noisier than the “factory” tone models available. The only thing I can figure is that my amps are amplifying the noise from the output of my interface output, and that this is what I’m hearing in my tone models.
I am currently using a MOTU M4 interface, which I thought was pretty nice. I am using the TONEX Capture to send the test signal from the M4 to my amps. What can I do to reduce the hissing noise? Is there a list of recommended interfaces that have exceptionally quiet outputs? What is the secret sauce behind the IK tone models? I must admit that I’m pretty frustrated, because it feels like good captures aren’t possible with common equipment. I hope that I am wrong. I’d really like to be able to take the tone of my favorite amps to gigs without taking my favorite amps.
Thanks for any insights. Cheers!
