I have a question about gain staging for the most accurate gain response. There are 3 gain variables to manipulate:
1. Interface gain knob
2. Amplitube/Tonex input gain slider (bottom left corner)
3. Amp gain knob (the one on the actual amp model)
The default has been to set interface gain just below clipping and then adjust the input gain slider of Amplitube to get the best response. We then were told by other manufacturers to set interface gain to 0 and only manipulate the plugin input gain.
All this info really has me confused on what is the "right" approach. What's the difference between the 3 different gain variables?
