Tonex as audio interface no computer sound

I just got a tonex (yay!), and I can see the device is connected to my computer (via USB C) and I have selected tonex as input and output on my computer.

Tonex software is recognizing the unit and changing when I select different presets etc., but when I try to listen to songs on Spotify or YouTube there is no audio.

I am trying to listen through headphones on my tonex and I can hear the tonex fine but I can't hear any of my music or tracks.

What am I missing? Thanks!

I have also put the Tonex in 'interface' mode and it still isn't working. UGH! I looked at the manual and didn't see any guidance for Mac either.
