Midi Bank Up Function

Postby reignstorm » Wed May 31, 2023 5:36 pm

Is there a way to BANK UP, like pressing the two right switches, or BANK DOWN (two left switches) via midi? I'd like to have this function via MIDI. Anyone know if that is possible?

It seems the "Bank" function listed in the manual only addresses between PC0-127, or beyond that - not the banks of 3 presets.

Thanks!!

I am referring to the Tonex pedal, BTW. Thanks!

The midi implementation doesn't use banks in the same way as the Tonex pedal does. You can send program changes and MIDI bank CC messages and they do let you change the Tonex presets. You need to think of the Tonex as have two MIDI banks of 127 presets (the second bank isn't fully used).
Tonex 1A = PC 0; 1B = PC 1; 1C = PC 2; 2A = PC 3; 2B = PC 4; 2C = PC 4; etc.

The first 127 Tonex presets are MIDI Bank 0; the next set is MIDI Bank 1.

I've been able to send program control messages that way and it works find.

There is a Youtube video out there that speaks to this as well.

Thanks for your helpful reply. I can use midi to change programs in this way.

It seems that a provision for BANK UP or DOWN to jump by sets of 3 programs would be a very useful inclusion in the midi spec.
