Audio interface drivers not being recognised by other softwa

Postby Okudoduma990 » Tue Jul 05, 2022 6:31 am

I'v got a focusrite 2i4 interface, until recently it worked just fine with software like amplitube (guitar amp sim) and various DAW's, even on windows 10 (64bit).

I'v now re-installed windows (Once again, windows 10 professional, 64 bit) and I can't get any specialised software like amplitube or a DAW to work.

I have it set as my default audio device, and audio comes out of it just fine from windows, games, media etc.

But if I try to run amplitube or something similar I can select the inputs and outputs on the interface, but not its driver, I can only choose between my motherboards audio drivers and ASIO.

I have tried the newest drivers for my interface, and older ones I knew used to work.

Any idea what could be wrong?

Gosh, I have the same problem. I have posted a technical support issue (#9922534) and there response was just don't run at the higher sampling rates even though I tested Amplitube 5 initially with focusrite at 192000 samples with an 8.3 ms latency. Then I installed Ableton Lite and all my problems started.

Amplitube 5 wont work past 48000 now. I need to set the buffer size instead of amplitube setting it itself. Tonex software will set the buffer size, even at 192000 (11ms latency). I tried everything (even system restore point prior to ableton live) to try to get back to what i had originally.

I think its a registry issue and I cannot get technical help to go deep enough to rid the issue. My aim was to get a 20ms or less latency. Amplitube is now 45. Cant get any lower. I only wish technical support could go through the process , register keys and / logs so that i can find the issue.

I also logged the issue with focusrite but their technical support aren't qualified enough to go any deeper. IK said just dont go past 48k, understandable, but I was able to to 192000 but can no longer. And no one will point me in the right direction to find out where to look.

That sounds annoying. Here are a few quick fixes:

Reinstall Drivers: Uninstall the current drivers and reinstall the latest from Focusrite’s site. Restart after.

Select ASIO Driver: In Amplitube/DAW, make sure to choose the Focusrite ASIO driver in audio settings.

USB Port Switch: Try a different USB port; sometimes they can be picky.

Close Other [Mod edit - spam link has been removed; posting further such links will lead to a ban from the forum] Apps: Make sure no other audio apps are running that could conflict.

Check those out and hopefully, you'll be back to rocking in no time!
