I think I was under the impression they were better set up for this specific purpose rather than a the model architecture of a laptop/desktop machine? Is audio better on an 'old' fx8 rather than current modeller software on a new high end laptop? Dunno, I could be wrong, maybe a high end laptop will be just as good or better?
Interesting you have a Helix and are really trying to get Amplitube working for you. Is that because you think a lot more of the sound from Amplitube over the Helix? I tried Helix Native once and it was awful. I was back in Amplitube after about 10 minutes. Possibly because I've spent hours and hours refining what works for me in Amplitube and maybe if I played with helix/bias longer they might be as good, but I figure if I'm happy with the sound in Amplitube, why bother? Haha.

I posted on the A4 wishlist that A5 should have scenes. I don't understand why they were not included. Changing presets is so clunky compared to staying in the same preset and flipping a few settings.

Agree entirely. I've just bought a Stomp I/O (that I'm HOPING will arrive tomorrow) in order to see how well that'll work as a live solution (with my Surface Pro on a mount on the music stand).

That would be a lovely rig. The Stomp is a bit underpowered for me (not enough pedals). I'm using a MeloAudio Midi Commander but I'm soon to be using a Morningstar MC6 so I have some preset names on stage.

Really badly, so far .

Support sent me the super-secret link, installed the drivers, works. Happy. Would have saved them a support ticket, and me a bunch of time, if they just had the link available, though.
