Weird behavior from Amp5 [Resolved - it was UAD/Catalina]

Postby jonesler » Tue Mar 23, 2021 1:50 am

I had Ampllitube 5 working great, then I bought Total Studio 3 and since reinstalling it I'm having these issues. In standalone no signal is getting from the Apollo 8 to the software, there is clearly signal getting to Apollo 8. When I use it as a plugin in Logic it has a feedback loop. All parameters, permissions etc.. are set as they were before.

Hi jonesler

This suggests that Logic is taking its input from an onboard microphone somehow. I can't really think of a reason why installing TS3 would change any of the previously setup AT5 preferences unless you uninstalled your original version of AT5 first and the software reverted to defaults.

As this is a user-to-user forum and not direct to IKM support, in case no one else chimes in here with advice or a solution the best thing to do is check the FAQs, via https://www.ikmultimedia.com/contact-su ... ck=QUICKSW

If these do not resolve the issue, there is a link to the Technical Support form at the top of the Search FAQs page, for direct help from Official IK Support. They endeavour to reply within 2 working days, but obviously considering the current situation things may take longer than usual.

And, to help others who run into a similar problem, please let us know what you did to resolve the issues, but without directly quoting any correspondence from official support.

Turns out it wasn't Amp5 at all. It was UAD software. I recently "upgraded" to Catalina and you have to jump through all kinds of hoops to make your Apollo work with it. Amplitube 5 is awesome. Catalina is definitely not awesome.

Thanks for the help.
