I don't know what I'm doing

Hey, I'm not terribly familiar with amplitube

All I got is my guitar and a usb cable from amazon that is designed to plug into the computer.

I got some sound from amplitube 5 custom shop (I'm just trying out the free stuff for now) through my headphones for a little while but it was badly delayed.

Then I read that I might want to try asio4all and when I installed it and set it I learned it had it's own panel but I couldn't get it to work. I played with the settings a bit and got it to move the little green input bars in the lower left but no sound came out.

I tried going into advanced setting in asio4all and made sure that the computers soundcard and usb were both highlighted. I tried setting the soundcard as the output device and usb as input and still no sound.

any advice?

What audio interface do you use? You'll need this to connect your guitar to the PC.

I was just plugging the usb cable into the PC and kinda hoping it would work out. lol

Very new to this.

I'm guessing I'll absolutely need something as a midway between the computer and the guitar?

An audio interface. You can get them fairly cheaply.

You'll need an Audio Interface (not just a USB to 6.35mm cable) to connect your instrument to your PC:

Guitar <6.35mm to 6.35mm> Audio Interface <usb to usb> PC

Dang that's unfortunate. I picked up this cheap little thing hoping it would work.

Oh well, guess I'll have to shop for an audio interface then.
