I am very happy with my Tonex Pedal. I use it as my main amp and cab simulator and connecting it to an FRFR speaker and direct to house speakers. I still use separate drive and time-based pedals.

But having a separate block for stomp models/captures in Tonex would be a great feature. Being able to add a stomp capture to my favorite amp models would be fun. Also, a "digitech-like" pitch shifter would be a great addition, for adding accurate semi-tones or being able to drop tune in just one stomp would be helpful.

Love my TONEX One ...

but once I've loaded presets on to it I have no way of knowing what they are unless I manually make a list. A facility in the TONEX Editor to export a list to Word, PDF, whatever would be really useful.

I'm late to the game, but here's my wish list for the Tonex One :

- Being able to route the CAB on the outputs : I'd love being able to have the cab IR on the left and nothing on the right, so I'd be able to send one to my poweramp and one to the FOH with the CAB activated
- Overdrive block : It would be so cool to be able to add an overdrive/distortion block before the amp like we can add reverb/delay/modulation
- Parametric / Standard EQ block on pre AND post : double the EQ double the fun I guess
- Double noise gate (or a better one) : being able to have simultanous noise on pre and post

I guess that's all but :D

Please:
- more bass-specific presets

- BETTER bass-specific presets. All the guitar models sound ferocious, pure, pristine. All the bass models sound bland, dull, lifeless, extremely low volume compared to guitar models. I know 99% of all music gear companies consider bassists as 2nd class citizens, but don't we deserve a huge collection of boutique amps and cabs as well? There are more Marshall guitar amps than there are bass amps OVERALL!

- pre and post eq

- an extra eq band

- better eq filter types. I don't know what's up with the eq, other than it's fairly useless for bass. Variable q on all bands and the ability to switch between shelf/bell on the high and low bands would be great

- pre and post high/low pass filters

- a peak limiter. Failing that, adjustable ratio (up to infinity:1) on the compressor

I know my first two wishes are never going to happen ("duuh, bass player only go straight in DI, duuurrr") but I really hope the eq and compressor could be optimized

+1 to all the requests for a "boost" option.
Ideally a new effect block that can be placed either before the amp or after the amp as a clean boost. Just one volume knob like an MXR micro amp would be perfect.

Hi.

1 - More power to headphone to get a good tone with 55 ohms headphone(like AKG k240 MKII) on live mode and independent control of headphone volume.

2 - Creating a documentation of recommended headphones (mainly sensitivity and ohms) and reference monitors to use with Tonex pedal in live mode direct on pedal outputs

Thanks.

May I add :
- Being able to remove noise and hum on captured models. I mainly play hi gain amps and the noise gate is either not enough or too much and kill my tone...

I used to play on the hx stomp and the hi gain models are very quiets... which is nice to have when you are playing very loud, the noise gate is very smooth and the hissing soon is easy to handle.

+1 on the octaver and pitch shifter

sashibashi wrote:Some bass-friendly suggestions for ToneX presets:
  • Firstly, I second the wish for a pitch shifter, though monophonic would work for bass, more like an Octaver where I could blend in a little octave up/down.
  • A crossover for split high/low processing e.g. to have compression only on the low band and distortion or modulation only on the high band.

A metronome would be insanely useful within the TONEX pedal to alleviate having to use something external for this simple and necessary practice tool

Would it be possible to make the previous default library available for Tonex pedal. Now when I import default library I only get the latest version. I would like the previous one back please........

I totally agree with this below wish list.....

1. Also make the MOD EFX banl (Block) to be like Delay and Reverb with MIDI CC messages.....as of now all you can do is Turn on the MOD BANK and then select type on a different switch....but as soon as you change the A B C preset everything gets turned off.....its really annoying as it sounds awesome!!

Rupslay09 wrote:It would be really great if we could have an option to make the Reverb, Modulation & Delay effects toggle between global or per preset.

I find that I am using the ToneX with my reverb and delay pedals more than the now awesome internal options, purely because I often only change amp tones and don't want my effects to change. This would open up a whole world of possibilities for using the ToneX without a full pedal board.

You can already use CC messages with the Mod block.
If your midi controller allows it, you can send a string of messages with one press to get exactly the mod you want, so you don't need separate switches to select mod type and then on/off.

This doesn't change the fact that effects turn off when you switch preset, though. That's just part of switching a preset on any unit. When you pull up the new patch it'll load exactly as you saved it.

Unfortunately there's currently no way to use midi to change your tone model inside a preset (it sounds like that would solve your problem, too). But if you want to change your sound while keeping your Delay, Reverb, and Mod sounds the same then you can use midi CC messages to change your gain & model volume, so that might be a workaround you can use.
eg - make your preset based around a clean tone, then with a press of one midi switch, you could crank your gain knob (cc#102) to 10, add a compressor (cc#18) and change your model volume (cc#103) to volume match. the clean sound

Hope that helps.

Thank you SO SO SO much for this reply. The Blackstar LIVE Logic MIDI Controller does not let me send multiple CC messages. maybe the Blackstar is too simple....

Switch 1 Turns On/Off and then I have to use Switch 2, 3, 4 to select Type. Am I missing something.....
I tried this:
MOD/ POWER 32 000: OFF, 127: ON (turns On/Off) Toggle
****MOD/ TYPE 33 000: CHORUS, OR 001, 002, etc in the OFF Value section.
Only chooses whatever is on and the does weird things when in Momentary not Toggle.

I can turn Delay, Reverb and other things on and off etc but only 1 CC message is ridiculous....supa limiting.....I will contact Blackstar too.....Trying to keep my rig compact and simple.

I tried the On/Off and type using these parameters:MOD

Parameter CC# Value
MOD/ POWER 32 000: OFF, 127: ON
MOD/ TYPE 33 000: CHORUS
001: TREMOLO
002: PHASER
003: FLANGER
004: ROTARY
MOD/ POSITION 31 000: PRE AMP, 127: POST AMP

If I only have access to the MOD while in a Preset thats fine.

Side Note: I can not wait until they have spillover or seamless switching so reverbs delays etc are not cut off between switching....
