Count in Looper

Where can I set the number of bars for the looper to count in? At the moment it only does one bar, I'd like it to do two bars.
Also is there a way to automatically let the looper help my to finish the loop one the first note of the beat? At the moment I'm not sure if I'm still not getting it right or that the my midi controller is the problem.
