I’ve probably tried to use it 50-60 times. Twice it has sounded really good. Very dynamic with realistic distortion characteristics. For reference I’ve been playing late 60s and early 70s plexis for 40 years. The two times Tonex sounded good I was impressed and really enjoyed playing it. Every other time it has sounded terrible. I’m not sure how to describe it other than a really poor digital sounding attempt at distortion. Dull and squeaky and squashed. Single notes on a clean tone barely make a sound.
My first good experience with it was right after I bought it in January. I’ve been on a quest for it to sound like that again LOL. Last night when I hooked up it had several seconds of latency. I rebooted and it sounded great again. No settings had been changed since the day before when it sounded terrible. This is clearly not a simple input gain or setting issue. The Tonex One into a power amp and cabinet sounds fine. The issue seems to be related to using it as an interface. Maybe I have a faulty pedal. Any ideas?
Thanks!
