ToneX/Unity6 MIDI Clock Noise Problem
I'm experiencing an unusual noise issue with my ToneX and Jet Unity6 controller setup. I'm hoping someone else has encountered this and might have a solution.
Setup
- Jet Unity6 controller on my pedalboard
- ToneX effects processor
- GLOBAL MIDI CLK setting on ToneX set to SLAVE MIDI
The Issue
When the ToneX MIDI CLK mode is set to SLAVE MIDI (receiving clock):
- I can turn effects on/off without any problems
- However, when I use the expression pedal to adjust parameters (like delay mix) while playing, a strange noise is introduced throughout the entire travel of the pedal
- The same noise appears when I tap tempo from the Unity6 while playing
What Works
When I set the ToneX MIDI CLK mode to OFF or MASTER:
- The expression pedal controls delay mix cleanly with no noise
- BUT I lose the ability to control tempo externally from the Unity6
Troubleshooting So Far
I've confirmed this is specifically related to the MIDI clock mode being in SLAVE MIDI position. The noise only appears when:
1. MIDI Clock is set to SLAVE MIDI
2. I'm either moving the expression pedal or using tap tempo
Has anyone else experienced this issue with the ToneX/Unity6 combination? Any suggestions for maintaining external tempo control without introducing this noise?
