TONEX pedal as stomp+amp+cab

Postby masxsim » Mon Mar 10, 2025 4:17 pm

Hi everyone! I’m thinking of buying TONEX pedal but can find an answer to my question. I want to use TONEX pedal as all-in-one solution: stomp box (comp, overdrive) into an amp and to a cab - and then from TONEX to a PA. I don’t want to use real overdrive pedals in front of TONEX pedal.
So my dumb question here: is that possible?
And (if it is) to be more specific: can I use TONEX pedal buttons (or an external midi controller) to control stomps in one preset? Like, to turn compressor on/off with one button, overdrive on/off with another button - while keeping the same amp+cab combination ON all the time?
And maybe insert a chorus pedal too and control it with the third button.
Thanks in advance!

Just took a look at the Tonex Manual which has a MIDI Specifications section on the left. If you look at that you should get a good idea of what can be controlled via MIDI. As one example you mentioned Compression and there are MIDI Control Change messages under COMP for POWER, GAIN, ATTACK, POSITION.

I do NOT own a Tonex but I think if the Tone Model you created has an amp, cab, and stomp box (like a distortion pedal you like), you can't turn on/off the pedal that is part of the model. You could create two models, say one with a distortion pedal and one without and then use MIDI to change between those two presets.
