Create wide sounding metal tone with AT5/Tonex ?

Postby R0bPhoboS » Tue Apr 11, 2023 4:03 pm

This isn't for recording of course, this is just purely for playing along to my favourite songs.
Rhythm for metal only here, no solo stuff.

I predominantly use Otto Audio 11 11 11, or AmpHub just because I saved several presets that have a nice wide, full sound for whatever I'm playing along to.

When using AT5 alone, I can get a pretty wide full 'room' sound using the built in mic/cabs of course but I want to start experimenting with Tonex now.

So does anyone have a screen shot or two they could share in how to build up a wider sound ?
I'm guessing some sort of dual parallel set up ?

Appreciate any help !

Actually I may have answered my own question.
I didn't initially see that when running 2 Tonex (or any amps/cabs for that matter), there is a separate CAB 1/2 buttons at the bottom of the mixer.
Doh

However if you use Tonex and a built in captured cab, you don't get the room mic feature (which I didn't initially realise).
