No sound, no nothing

I have an iRig HD2 plugged into a new MacBook Pro and I can get absolutely nothing going on. Not in AmpliTube. Not in Logic. The computer does not respond in any way to the HD2 being plugged in. Blue light lights up on the HD2 but never changes color when I play guitar. Is this just broken? Checked all possible sound settings but it's not listed any where.

you have to allow Amplitube permission to use microphone.
it's in system preferences, security & privacy.
