Tuner font unreadable in reaper

Postby alogon » Wed Jan 19, 2022 5:21 am

The font in the tuner; showing note, octave, and cents; is … smeared for want of a better term. This happens in Reaper but not in the standalone app. Admittedly, it would seem that Reaper is the culprit but I’ve had no luck with the forums there.

Have you had an issue like this? Or do you have any thoughts on potential fixes?

I’ve tried updates, reboots, removing the VST file and restarting Reaper, check scaling in Reaper and Win10.

Hello and welcome to the forum.
I am sorry to hear about the problems you are running into.

As this is primarily a user to user forum, not official Technical Support, other users may chip in. But please remember that the same symptoms do not necessarily mean the same problem. The image in Reaper is smaller, can you make the GUI bigger? If so, does that improve things?

---------------------------------
Meanwhile, the best thing to do is Search the FAQs first, via here. If they do not resolve the issue, there is a red button link to the Technical Support form, for some one to one investigation and help. Response time aims to be within 2 working days (US (East Coast) Business hours, generally), but in the current circumstances please allow some more time.

And, to help others who run into a similar problem, please let us know what you did to resolve the problem. Please do not quote directly any correspondence from Support, as that may apply only to your particular circumstances and may lead others down the wrong track.

Thanks for the guidance.

I assumed that it is not necessarily an AmpliTube issue, but based on your request to resize the reaper window so they are at the same scale, now I think it may be an AmpliTube issue.

(Images posted below) When I resize the window in either Reaper or the standalone app, I get a variety of different “smears” in the text. And I noticed that the characters are wrong when I play a note that is sharp or flat. I get a capital N and degree mark (N°) rather than the #.

Same thing happens to me. Amplitube seems to load the wrong font from my windows font folder. I get this script font that is too big to display.

I contacted support about this quite awhile ago now and they just couldn't help. Seems like it would be an easy fix. I don't think enough people have complained about it for them to address this issue.

They will continue to assist you if you reply to them and let them know the suggestions haven't worked for you. This is not an issue for every user so it is not likely to require an update to AmpliTube itself.
