Just Can't Get Sound in Logic?? [Resolved]

Postby DesertRatt » Tue Jan 26, 2021 6:36 pm

Setup:
iMac, with Big Sur (11.1)
Logic Pro 10.6.1
AmpliTube 4

PROBLEM: When I open the effect on the track the Amp screen appears, amps can be selected, knobs can be turned, levels set, choices made...blah, blah, blah, BUT my guitar sound remains that of a naked guitar as though no effect was selected.

I see videos of people trying amps and pedals and sound in real time as they sit with guitar. Mine just plays the generic sound of my naked guitar. WHAT the heck?

Hello there.

So, some simple things to check first:

1) You have Software Monitoring checked in Preferences>Audio>General in LPX
2) On the same tab, Input monitoring only for the focussed track is unchecked.
3) The track you have AT inserted on is showing the correct input that you have your guitar plugged into
4) The input monitoring button "I" on that track is selected
5) Your audio interface (or control software) is not set to direct monitoring.

Let us know once you've checked on these things.

I’m on a 2016 MacBook Pro running Big Sur and latest version of Logic Pro and can confirm that AmpliTube 4 and 5 are both working. Definitely check Garfy’s suggestions above.

Mind Blown! Thank you, thank you! I had the LPX Audio Preferences set wrong! Now, I don't know how I will ever get to these billion combinations of amps, pedals and cabs! Lordy, Lordy my wife already doesn't see me for 12 hours a day cooped up in my man-cave-recording-studio-gear-warehouse-electricty-burning-noise-making-refuge-from-the-world! Now, I may simply call in for Grub Hub and emerge when the Covid all-clear siren sounds!

Many thanks for helping a geezer cross the street. You will be rewarded in heaven!
