Noise when routing UNO Drum through Behringer Neutron

Apologies if this is another dumb question.

I made a post a couple of days ago trying to figure out how to control a Behringer Neutron using midi from an UNO Drum machine, but now I’m trying to actually route audio from the drum machine to be processed in the Neutron.

I’ve tried sending audio to multiple different ins in the patch bay as well as the normal input (normal input on the neutron is 1/4” so I used a 3.5mm to 1/4” adapter) on the back of the neutron and, while I can faintly hear my drum loop, I get a lot of static/interference (not talking about a noise floor or a subtle white noise, it sounds scratchy and inconsistent, almost like there’s an issue with power or faulty circuit)

I can confirm the drum machine is working fine, and I’ve used the patch bay on the Neutron plenty of times without issue. Does anyone have an idea as to what the issue could be?
