iLoud MTM and immersive studios

Hi,

I read on the IK Multimedia website that the iLoud MTM had received a firmware update to be usable in immersive mixing studios, especially for Dolby Atmos mixes.

I find the iLoud MTMs very useful for Dolby Atmos installations in small mixing rooms. But I would need some answers before testing them:

- Currently, the iLoud MTMs are sold individually or in pairs, each time accompanied by a measuring microphone. So for a 7.0.4 configuration, you need to buy five pairs and one speaker alone, which means 6 measurement microphones in the end... Does IK multimedia plan to sell the iLoud MTM without microphones? That would avoid the waste...

- Another point, in the manual, there is no update concerning this new immersive feature. As a result, nothing is specified about the placement of the measurement microphone in a 7.0.4 context. Is it possible to have some precisions?

- In the absence of a subwoofer in the IK Multimedia range, do you recommend a model for a 7.1.4 configuration based on the iLoud MTM?

I'm very interested in learning more about the iLoud MTMs for immersive mixing. In addition to Megalobass's questions (will IK offer an Atmos bundle of iLoud MTMs without all the extra microphones and at a bundle price), I would also like to know:

Does the ARC technology in the MTMs compensate for time delays of each speaker to the listening position?

An important detail of having 12 speakers surrounding the listening position is that they each need to reach the listening position at the same time to avoid phasey playback. So not just adjusting the EQ of each speaker, but the time/phase as well.

My interest is piqued about exploring the MTMs for immersive audio. I'm most interested in knowing if the onboard ARC technology compensates for timing for each individual speaker to the listening position?

At the moment very few software tools offer tuning and management for surround speaker arrays. For example, neither SW's SoundID reference or IK's ARC 3 offer this option.

It almost seems too good to be true that a single measurement for each of 11 speakers would result in a reliable playback system. Especially with each analysis not being cross-communicated to the other speakers in the surround setup.
