what portable guitar 'amp' do you carry

I'm trying to improve my guitar playing setup while traveling, currently my thought is to just buy a guitar at a destination and sell it, but amps seem to be a bigger headache and thinking about either getting and iRig or Apogee Jam and just plugging into an iPhone amp sim. Is that a setup that would work? Any recommendations for one or the other? What setup do you use?

I’m a big fan of the THR10. It’s been my portable Swiss-army-amp for a while. I’ve used it for clean and dirty guitar, bass, electronic drums, acoustic, and as an audio-in for playback devices. It can be a great piece of convenient equipment, as long as you don’t expect super high sound quality.
