So, I have been confused with some refering to ToneX as a modeler and dome as s profiler.
Until today, I thought the difference was that with a profiler, you get a fixed capture, and any fiddling with knobs (gain, tone, volume, etc) is really just an EQ on top of the IR capture. But, with a modeler, the model reacts to such adjustments as the amp would and so is more amp-like.
Now, today I seem to have learned that ToneX is indeed a capture, and therefore just a profiler despite how nice those captures might be.
Is this correct?
Don’t get me wrong, I have the ToneX One, and it sounds nice. And further I cant really justify/afford $1700 for a Cortex.
