I watched the video of Wietse at White Sea Studios on this topic, and my thought was that it's in their best interest that plugin companies would support as many formats as possible. And certainly when the new standard could bring more possibilities like 'look ahead' and more communications between plugins on different tracks.
If IK Multimedia would invest in this new technology, along with other plugin developers, More DAW's would support it. Now it's only Reaper and Bitwig.
