IK Multimedia Manager is driving me potty

Postby greymouse » Mon Sep 23, 2024 1:14 am

Hi

I've got an issue with IK Multimedia Manager not installing sound files

please read carefully

I have activated the software correctly however when selecting the "sounds" tab in the manager and I press install it is not installing the "content" zip files and I have pointed the manager to the folder where all the zip files have been downloaded too

for example clicking install on "Alternate Keys" under "Sounds" tab in the manager, it prompts me for the folder for the location of the " "Alternate Keys content" zip file, then I get a message "installing started, please wait" and does nothing else

having multiple "sounds" to install I tried "install all" in the manager, with the manager options set to the location of the content .zip files on my computer

these are the errors so far

The sound copy/destination path
C:\Users\\\IK Multimedia\SampleTank 4
you've selected does not have enough space. Please close this window to select a new path in application. (code: 1111)

or

Bad Request (101) authorization manager

the " does not have enough space" error, sounds like an easy and obvious fix but I have tons of free space on the drive where the manager is accessing the content zip files from

also some of the "content" .zip files have already been downloaded as well, I can see them, and they don't install either

I have checked if the "content" .zip files are in the folders where the manager's options is trying to install them from

is there a way I can simply extract the zip file into the program folder?

sorry having a potty day been working on this for days so bit frustrated by now

any help would be
appreciated

little bit of an update, I moved all the .zip files off onto an external hdd,

read carefully

I uninstalled the IK Multimedia Manager and the License program using add / remove programs, re-ran the installer for IK Multimedia Manager

Linked the folder options in the IK Multimedia Manager to my external hdd

managed to successfully install custom shop (after it was repeatly failing due to an error that an file (.exe) was missing? even though custom shop was being downloaded with IK Multimedia Manager), after multiple attempts I got Custom Shop running and I logged in

On a whim (or frustration?) I launched all of the applications (with the IK Multimedia Manager open), for which I had a license to in IK Multimedia Manager manually i.e from the short cut and it started setting the programs up which took some time but it seemed to tell the system the programs existed

now in IK Multimedia Manager I am successfully installing one of the "Content".zip files from the external hdd!

will update if I get any further

Another update

after logging into www.ikmultimedia.com and looking at the /my-products/ page, I downloaded everything I could which includes

A few programs which didn't require the IK Multimedia Manager to install by selecting the "Download's for windows" for programs I could, and downloading "Sounds Download" and "Download Resources" from the /my-products/

these included 'pre-set files', 'Sound files' and .PDF Manuals

looking at what IK Multimedia Manager was downloading (when it worked) the program had created sub directories for each for the "Sound Content" I own, inside that folder was the "Content" .zip file (which was downloaded by IK Multimedia Manager), all the content was on my external hhd

I copied all the files I have downloaded manually from the website under /my-products/
and put all that into the correct folder on the external hdd

I unextracted the program ".zip" files so the install .exe's was there already for IK Multimedia to use

then I re-launced IK Multimedia and its now installing and downloading any files I was missing from the external hdd

its now installing and downloading what's missing content from externally hdd in IK Multimedia Manager

see what happens next

update

am manually extracting each content .zip file and running the installer

taking awhile but its installing now

hoping that the license will be okay because it wasn't, downloaded, extracted, installed and activated using the IK Multimedia Manger it keeps falling over with different errors

also still the IK Multimedia Manger is still sitting on installing...

final update

all but one "Sound Content" have been installed manually and IK Multimedia Manager now says that the sounds I have installed are installed now except one

I also ran each of the programs I bought and selected the options, I have managed to login under "account" and have selected "Restore Purchases" for each

am going have to keep retrying the IK Multimedia Manager as its not downloading one "Sound Content" when I press Install, its just sitting on "Installing please wait..." without doing anything

I can understand why you would use a media manager for your products but the manager just keeps failing with different errors and not working properly

maybe if they would supply each "Sound Content" and all "Programs" as .zip you can download from your /my products/ page instead of using the installer to do everything it would be very helpful

I understand that the programs need to be licensed hence the IK Multimedia Manager installer but I've just spent days to get it to work and only way I could get it to work was with a work around just to get my stuff I purchased, without using the IK Multimedia Manager as the installer

I've now got one "sound content" left that I'm having trouble downloading so I have to keep trying as the "sound content" .zip isn't on /my products/ web page and I have to rely on the IK Multimedia Manager to at least download the .zip file so I can manually install it
