Question regarding raising a support ticket

I have raised a support ticket regarding hardware registration twice over the last couple of days and I was under the impression from posts on this forum that I would get an automated response giving details of the support ticket number. This hasn’t happened on either occasion so I have no way of knowing if my request has been received.
Could anyone confirm that an automated response is still to be expected after raising a support request?

I have just received an email with the ticket, it has taken 8 or 9 hours after my second attempt so at least I know now my request got through.
