Backing tracks are used for practice, learning, and live performance by solo artists. Creating your own may be difficult for guitar players with limited keyboard skills. Online options are available but finding desired styles and genres can be time-consuming and costly. There are programs to create backing tracks but they may have poor sound quality. Exporting MIDI data and using Total Studio 2 MAX's instruments solves the sound quality issue. Options for backing tracks include SampleTank 3, Syntronik, Philharmonik 2, and MODO Bass, which are MIDI-based and can change tempo and key easily. The author welcomes comments on experiences and recommendations for using IK's instruments with backing tracks.
