Now ive looked and cant find a straight answer..iRig2

so..iRig 2works with my old iphone6 and old ipad .. so ive Been trying with my ipad 3rd generation .. not a chance .. anyone have a logical Solution aside from .. " just use the old one"...? ..Thanks ....
