Why the name IK Multimedia?

Just curious what the IK stands for, especially the K since the letter K does not exist in the Italian alphabet (IKMM is an Italian company). Also why Multimedia? In my opinion, the name doesn't emphasize what they are about and what solutions they provide. Their products however do. Such as, SampleTamk, Amplitube, Tonex, T-Racks....

A very good question that made me spend yet another half hour reading about IK Multimedia. (I already read and watched videos about IK M. on their own site a long time ago).
