Connecting IRIG Quattro with IPAD 17.2 USB-C

Hi there,

i need some support.
I tried to connecting my IRIG Quattro with the IPAD 17.2 USB-C and Garageband.
The IRIG Quattro is not recognized automatically.
What can i do?

I tried an older I pad of a friend with Lightning. And this works. So I can‘t understand why it’s not automatically connecting with USB-C.
Settings are correct.
